This song was pretty much the very first song written since our previous album, Seasons. I fell in love with American Football LP3 and the atmosphere of the album, and wanted to experiment with the guitars to create something like that. The title of the song is the working title, it sort of stuck with me. The more I thought about the title the more I felt I had to say about it, and instruments wasn’t enough this time. I started to write lyrics for the very first time, and it ended up being our very first song with vocals that we’ve ever made. It’s a message that those blind to what’s happening to the Earth by the way we’re treating our planet. It’s about Mother Earth, referred to as “she”, trying to show herself and that she’s in need while we keep turning our backs. She’s had enough of it and is ready to use her force to make us aware of it.
Now, I’m not a singer and I was terrified of the thought of singing. But I trained and pushed myself far beyond my comfort zone. The sound of the vocals is inspired by Mogwai, Sigur Rós and Holy Fawn. I wanted the vocals to be like another element, like an instrument. It ended up being 12 tracks of vocals mixed together before I was satisfied. – Adam
lyrics
You're blinded by the lights,
artificial lies.
The stars are out of sight.
Open up your mind,
and let her inside.
She's never going to hide.
No matter what you say,
She knows that there's a way
to make the concrete sway.
She wants us to see,
the wounds we cannot feel.
You've turned your back and now she weeps.

Moonlit Sailor has been one of my very first bands I found in the Post Rock universe. I instantly fell in love with the song Hope the very first time I listened it, I just became happy and hopeful straight away, so thanks a lot for that amazing song !! The rest of the album is also very good and does complete the ambiance around this very unique atmosphere ! Simon Bastien

I first heard Pillars when I attended Post. Fest 2018 to hear Heron play (I have 2 talented nephews who are members of that band). I thought the guys in Pillars sounded tight and awesome. This album, CAVUM, just proves even more so that I was correct! My favorites on the album are Dissolution and Black Prayer, but plenty of excellent sounds here! Kenneth Blick
