Our longest song we’ve ever written. We had a clear picture of the songs structure and progression and it was written mainly with bass as a foundation. After a demo track with the bass and some drums to it the song turned out to be nearly 13 minutes long. At first we considered releasing it as an EP related to the album, but we decided to include it. It’s basically 4 different songs molded into one, each section sounds like it could fit the album on its own. This wasn’t the initial idea when laying down the demo tracks, but the transitions sort of happened naturally and it turned out quite interesting. There were many bands who played a source of inspiration during this song. From Sólstafir and Marriages, as well as Emma Ruth Rundle’s solo music, all the way to Manchester Orchestra and Foxing.

Moonlit Sailor has been one of my very first bands I found in the Post Rock universe. I instantly fell in love with the song Hope the very first time I listened it, I just became happy and hopeful straight away, so thanks a lot for that amazing song !! The rest of the album is also very good and does complete the ambiance around this very unique atmosphere ! Simon Bastien

I first heard Pillars when I attended Post. Fest 2018 to hear Heron play (I have 2 talented nephews who are members of that band). I thought the guys in Pillars sounded tight and awesome. This album, CAVUM, just proves even more so that I was correct! My favorites on the album are Dissolution and Black Prayer, but plenty of excellent sounds here! Kenneth Blick
